Client

Baltic Creative CIC

Faced with the challenge of a generation of neglect, limited financial resources and a genuine threat of demolition we explored creative ways to save the original buildings features for posterity.

Our response retains the original aged brick façade and ironwork with new design interventions that quite literally ‘plugging-in’ to the voids left behind by the passing of time.

Its stark contrast between the old and the new is characteristic of the vibrant fusion of Liverpool’s historic physical heritage with the dynamic and progressive community within the Baltic Triangle.

The buildings new role provides 17,000ft² for 20 emerging digital tech enterprises.

Baltic Creative CIC gave K2 a very demanding brief for Digital House. A tight budget, a Victorian Warehouse, derelict for more than 30 years and a fast delivery programme. Their approach to our scheme was creative but practical. When challenges arose, they worked hard to find cohesive, affordable and deliverable solutions which retained the integrity of the initial design. K2 are great to work with and our tenants are delighted with their fantastic new home
