Eureka! Science + Discovery is specifically tailored to captivate and ignite the curiosity of young minds aged 6 to 14.

In collaboration with key stakeholders across the Liverpool City Region, this endeavour saw active participation from over 120 young individuals in shaping the exhibition content. The K2 team, in close partnership with Eureka, municipal planning and heritage officials, and a consortium of stakeholders, embarked on a mission to delicately balance the preservation of the Grade II listed Seacombe Ferry Terminal building with the delivery of a state-of-the-art visitor experience. This experience was envisioned as a joyful fusion of interactive, experiential, tactile, and sculptural exhibits.

All too often, historic listed buildings are meticulously restored and admired from a distance, a tradition we decided to challenge. Here, our approach took a transformative stance. We didn’t merely conserve and respect the heritage; we celebrated it in an entirely innovative manner.

Eureka! Science + Discovery emerged as a fully immersive experience where the young can delve into the wonders of science and discovery with unbridled enthusiasm. It’s a place where learning is synonymous with play, where the past gracefully converges with the present, and where the essence of heritage is not locked behind glass but brought to life for all to relish.

The K2 team have been really positive, responsive and great to work with throughout the design process for Eureka! Science + Discovery
